Helen Marie Rhoades, age 89, of LaBelle, MO, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at Twin Pines Adult Care Center in Kirksville.
She was born August 3, 1922, near Novinger, MO the daughter of Clifford E. and Leila Madge Jones Smith.
She was united in marriage to Rial Dudley Rhoades on January 14, 1938 at Edina, MO and he preceded her in death on October 17, 1981. Helen was also preceded in death by her parents, one son Bobby Gene Rhoades, one daughter Phyllis Marie Klataske, three brothers, Leo Carl, Hallie LaVern and Edwin D. Smith and one sister in infancy Cleta Mae Smith.
Surviving are one daughter Mary Ann Fox and her husband Lee of Kirksville, MO, one son-in-law Delmar Klataske of Lewistown, MO and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and one sister Marjorie Fern Cookman and husband Jack of Morrison, IL and several nieces and nephews.
Helen was a housewife and homemaker. She received her education at Edina Elementary School. After her marriage she and her husband moved from Edina to Lewis County, MO.
Memorial graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday September 4, 2011, at the LaBelle Cemetery.
Her request was to be cremated there will be no visitation.
