Harold Eugene Breeden, age 81, of Willow Springs, MO, formerly of Newark, MO, passed away Friday, June 8, 2012, in Willow Springs, MO.
He was born September 16, 1930, in Grinnell, IA, the son of Carl Eugene and Edith Elzina (Hanson) Breeden.
Harold grew up on a family farm and started helping his father with the chores at age 9. He joined the United States marines and proudly served his Country during the Korean War. On September 16, 1965, Harold married Esther Marie Menke in LaBelle, MO. He later worked as a carpenter, in a washing machine factory, and retired as an OTR truck driver. He also had a goat dairy farm which he operated with his family. Harold will be missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Esther M. Breeden of Willow Springs, MO, Harold Eugene "Gene" Breeden, II of Branson, MO; Belinda Colene Woods and her husband James of Willow Springs, MO; and Beverly Colene Gregorie of Willow Springs, MO. Eugene is further survived by his grandchildren, Lana Gregorie, Samuel Howell, Alysha Breeden, Melodee Breeden, Nancy Stover, Ryan Woods, Devyn Breeden, Bridgette Adams, Ashley Smith, and great grandchildren Madison and Cordilla Maloy. His five sisters, Gladys Olsen, Mildred Jennings, Betty Simmons, Barbara Simmons, Gerrie Walker, his half-brother, Jimmy Breeden and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 11, 2012, from 1 p.m. till time of services at 2 p.m. at the Newark Christian Church.
Burial with full military honors will be held in the Newark Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction Coder Funeral Chapel of LaBelle, MO.
