Harley Wayne Dauma, age 91, of Memphis, MO, passed away Friday, March 23, 2012, at Scotland County memorial Hospital.
He was born February 4, 1921, at Novelty, MO, the son of Homer Clarence and Iva Belle Scott Dauma. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Verlee Chambers on November 12, 1941, at Etna, MO.
Surviving are his wife Dorothy Verlee Dauma of Memphis, MO, three sons, Kenneth Allen Dauma and wife Esther of Kansas City, MO, Stephen Scott Dauma and wife Laurie of Soap Lake, Washington, and Jon Adrian Chambers Dauma and wife Mary of Monmouth, IL, one sister Mary Sue Dauma Carder of Little York, IL, six grandchildren, Michael Dauma, Kerry Dauma, Lisa Dauma, Anthony Dauma and wife Robin, Shane Dauma and Valori and husband Russell, nine great grandchildren and, one great great grandchild, two sisters-in-law, Virginia Woods and husband Ivan of Memphis, MO, Glenna Tolliver and husband John of St. Peters, MO, one brother-in-law Lemuel Hatfield of Memphis, MO, and several nieces and nephews. Harley was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Clarence Dauma in infancy and one brother-in-law Leonard Carder.
Harley was born rural Novelty, MO, attended schools at Quincy, IL, LaBelle, MO, Enterprise, KS, Greeley, CO and graduated at Gorin, MO in 1939. He was engaged in farming in the Gorin, MO area for several years, and was employed for twenty-seven years at Wells Pet Food at Monmouth, IL till his retirement. He enjoyed carpentry work, working outdoors, traveling and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at the First Baptist Church in Memphis, MO. Reverend Dan Hite will officiate the services.
Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery at Gorin, MO.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. till 12 noon on Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at the First Baptist Church in Memphis, MO.
