Gretchen Anne Parrish age 76 of Baring, MO passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at her home in Baring.  She was born July 20, 1945, in St. Louis, MO the daughter of Frank Joseph and Esther Virginia Haines Hirner.

She was united in marriage to Eldon Parrish on December 24, 1975, in Baring, MO.

Gretchen was raised in St. Louis, MO and received her education in Chicago, IL.  Gretchen lived in St. Louis, Chicago, Milwaukee, Philadelphia, and New Jersey.  She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, reading especially history and archeology and her cats.   She enjoyed traveling and had traveled with her father to Ireland, Egypt and England.

Surviving are her husband Eldon Parrish of Baring, MO, one son Caley Andrew (Lori) Parrish of Chariton, IA, two grandchildren Andrew and Jesse Parrish of Urbandale, IA, sisters-in-law, Carol Hirner of Foster City, CA, Pat (Wayne) Martin, Memphis, MO, Mary K. Scott of Lancaster, CA, an aunt Pat Grant of Edina, MO, several nieces, nephews and cousins including Lawrence Stutsman of LaBelle, MO.

Gretchen was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother Franz Hirner.

Visitation will be held 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, May 27, 2022, with funeral services held at 11 a.m. in Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina. Burial will be in the Linville cemetery.

Officiating the services will be Reverend Ken Berry.  Musical selections will be In The Garden and Time In A Bottle.

Casket beaerers will be Terry Hunolt, Buck Bowen, Chad York, Doug Mayer, Von Snow and Virgil Doss.
