Gerald Johnson Perry, age 94 of Novelty, MO passed away, Thursday, May 8, 2025 at the Knox County Nursing Home at Edina, MO.

One June 25, 1930 in Knox County, MO he was born to Robert Johnson and Grace Myrtle Welsh Perry.  On December 21, 1950 in Shelbina, MO he was united in marriage to Betty Lou Foreman.

Surviving are his wife, Betty of Edina, MO; one son, Randy Perry and Deanne of Novelty, MO; one daughter, Twilah Yoder and Merlin of Leonard, MO; six grandchildren, Joshlin Yoder and Addie, Jessica Goldenberg and Mitch, Jordan Yoder and Rebekah, Jillian Steiner and Matthew, Robert Perry and Angela Martin and Austin; thirteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters, Irene Waibel, Fern Keith, Lodema Gosney and Roberta Anderson.

Mr. Perry was a graduate of the Novelty High School before going into the United States Army and serving his country during the Korean Conflict.  Gerald and his wife owned and operated a general store in Novelty for many years besides being engaged in farming.  He was an inspector for the USDA Farm Service Agency ASCS in Knox and for the State of Missouri for a number of years.  Gerald also drove a school bus for the Knox County R-I School District.

He was a member of the Ira Barclay American Legion Post #290 of Novelty, was a member and had served as a deacon of the Novelty Christian Church.  Gerald enjoy playing golf with his buddies and was a Cardinals baseball fan.  His greatest love was his family; being together and following all their sports events.  Family was everything and he will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO.  Rev. Paul Milliken will officiate the services.  Music will be proved by Jordan Yoder, a grandson singing, "Amazing Grace" and "Because He Lives".

Visitation will be held 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday evening, May 12, 2025 at Hudson-Rimer.  Burial with full Military Honors will be in Novelty Cemetery at Novelty, MO.  Casket bearers will be Joshlin Yoder, Robert Perry, Jordan Yoder, Mitch Goldenberg, Austin Martin and Matthew Steiner.
