Obituary

Georgia Irene Peterson, age 90, of Tuleta, Texas, formerly of Brashear, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2010, at the Christus Spohn Hospital in Beeville, Texas.
She was born June 14, 1920, at Greensburg, Missouri, the daughter of George and Edith Irene Keller Richardson.
She was united in marriage to Edwin Henry Peterson November 23, 1943, at Portland,Oregon and he preceded her in death on May 25, 1999.
Irene was also preceded in death by her parents, one great grandson Stephen Potter, a brother Harvey Richardson, two half brothers, Dale Richardson and Grandison McDowell, and a half sister, Geraldine McDowell.
Surviving are seven children, Merry Anne Nyren and husband Richard of Chantilly, Virginia, George E. Peterson of Pampa, Texas, Diana Conley and husband Jim of San Juan, Texas, Richard Allen Peterson and wife Barb of Tuleta, Texas, Charles Peterson and wife Judy of Northboro, Iowa, Ronald Henry Peterson and wife Cathy of Peculiar, Missouri and William Francis Peterson and Penny Hunter of Kirksville, Missouri, one step daughter, Bonnie Kay Dilmore of Florida, 22 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild.
She and her husband owned and operated a Taxi service in Cameron, Missouri before moving to Brashear, Missouri in 1964. Irene was Cook for the Brashear School for twenty-eight years. She was a member of the Brashear United Methodist Church and a member of the Brashear Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking, reading and spending time with her family.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 10, 2010, at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri. Reverend Nancy Douglas will officiate the services. Burial will be in the Greensburg Cemetery.
Musical selections will be Beautiful Isle of Somewhere, Old Rugged Cross and Amazing Grace.
Casket bearers will be her Grandsons.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 9, 2010, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.
