Gary Dale Peavler, age 64, of LaPlata, MO formerly of Novelty, passed away Friday, April 21, 2017, in the Samaritan Hospital in Macon, MO.
Gary was born December 23, 1952, in Kirksville, MO, the son of Sylva Edward (S.E. Buck) and Anita Burnett Peavler. Gary was a 1970 graduate of Knox County High School and graduated from Moler Barber School in Kansas City, MO. Gary barbered in Edina, MO and most recently in Macon, MO where he owned and operated Fullers Barber Shop. Gary was an avid Golfer and in his earlier years enjoyed playing baseball on the Novelty Team. Gary was a member of the Greensburg Masonic Lodge and a member of the Novelty Christian Church.
Surviving are his mother Anita Peavler of Edina, MO, a brother Mike (Joyce) Peavler of Novelty, MO, a step-son, Brent (Jennifer) Brookhart of Atlanta, MO, nephews, Mark (Michelle) Peavler of Knox City, MO, Travis Peavler of Novelty, MO, Alan (Crystal) Peavler of Novelty, MO, a niece Regina (Jason) Doss of Novelty, MO, great nieces and nephews, Colton (Rachel) Peavler, Chelsea Bisch, Jared and Alyssa Peavler, MaKennah and Jennah Peavler, Ella Grace Peavler, Addy and Karter Doss, a great-great nephew Connor James Peavler, two step grandchildren, Tegan and Tasheia Kay Brookhart, one step great granddaughter Zailee Brookhart.
Gary was preceded in death by his father, and a nephew James David Peavler.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, April 24, 2017, in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Reverend Paul Milliken will officiate the services. Burial will be in the Novelty Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Travis Peavler, Alan Peavler, Mark Peavler, Richard Fuller, Jared Peavler and Alan Rimer. Honorary bearers will be Robert Burnett, Randy Perry, Dennis Bradley, Alvin Peavler, Colton Peavler, Richard Clark, Everett Barry, Jason Doss and Brent Brookhart.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 23, 2017, in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO.
Memorials may be made to the Novelty Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1, Edina, MO, 63537.
