Frank Wallace Craggs, age 81, of LaPlata, Missouri, formerly of Novelty, Missouri, passed away Thursday, October 29, 2009, at Boone Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
He was born December 22, 1927, at Novelty, Missouri, the son of John Wesley and Elva Pearl Wallace Craggs.
He was united in marriage to Della Lou Kidwell at Shelbina, Missouri on August 28, 1949.
Surviving are his wife Della Lou Craggs of LaPlata, Missouri, five children, Deborah Clarkson and husband Dr. Norman of Kirksville, Missouri, John Craggs and wife Cindy of Kirksville, Missouri, Robert Craggs and wife Jeanie of Novinger, Missouri, Linda Smoot and husband Greg of LaPlata, Missouri, and Colleen Lincoln and husband Jerry of Novelty, Missouri, sixteen grandchildren, Veronica Kohl, Dr. Wesley Clarkson, Vanessa Robinson, Corrin Parsons, Tanya Rouse, Shona Lene, Kayla Craggs, Kelle Frederick, Brandy and Katelynn Craggs, Brett, Jeremy, and Lindsey Smoot, Garrett, Nicollette and Taylor Lincoln, fourteen great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Wallace was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Willis Craggs and one sister Alice Mitchell.
Wallace was raised in Novelty where he received his education graduating from Novelty High School in 1946. Wallace was manager of the MFA Bulk Plant in Novelty for thirty-two years retiring in 1993. Wallace farmed, drove a school bus and operated a dairy in the Novelty area for a number of years. He was a member of the Novelty Christian Church, enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, November 2, 2009, at Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri. Reverend Tim Gilliland and Reverend Paul Milliken will officiate the services. Burial will be in the Locust Hill Cemetery. Music will be provided by Melvin Bissey, soloist and Carol Hayes, organist.
Casket bearers will be Brett Smoot, Jeremy Smoot, Garrett Lincoln, Brent Parsons, Jason Lene, Chris Robinson, Jerome Kohl, Dr. Wesley Clarkson.
Honorary bearers will be Gerald Perry, Jeff Otto, Jerry Poor, Gilvie Frankie, Gerald Davis, Gary Kaser, Byron Harder, Leroy Cardwell and Don Reid.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 1, 2009, after 4 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.
