Francis Leon Shubert, age 75, of Oklahoma City, OK passed away Monday, July 4, 2016, at his home. He was born December 21, 1940, in Edina, MO, the son of Walter and Margaret Anna Coslett Shubert, Jr.
Francis graduated from Edina High School in 1959. He served his country in the United States Army from 1963 to 1965 receiving a marksman commendation on an M-14 Rifle. Francis worked for the Edina City water plant before moving to Kansas City where he worked for Wells Fargo Security. He had also been employed as a nurse's aide for various nursing homes.
Francis is survived by two sisters, Janice (Kim) Smith of Edina, MO, and Jane (Lanny) Bowen of Kirksville, MO, one brother Jerry Shubert of LaGrange, MO, one brother-in-law, Lawrence Schroeder of Edina, MO, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Francis was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, James Ray Shubert, Bill Shubert and his wife Elizabeth, Victor Shubert, two sister's, Mary Schroder and Irene Nichols and husband Dale.
Graveside services with full Military Honors will be held 1 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2016, in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO. Reverend Graig Connell will officiate the services.
