Obituary

Francis Joseph Pflum, Sr. age 83 of Gentry, Arkansas formerly of Knox County, Missouri passed away Monday, February 20, 2012 in the Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks in Fayetteville, AR.
Born May 21, 1928 near Novelty, MO, he was the son of George E. and Carrie I. King Pflum. On October 26, 1953 in Edina, MO he was united in marriage to H. Carol Crank. She preceded him in death on January 22, 1984. He was also preceded in death his parents, a brother, James Pflum; two sisters, Stella Dalton and Alice Bentley.
Surviving are two sons, Joe Pflum of Kahoka, MO and Dennis Gillaspy and wife, Cheryl of San Diego, CA; one daughter, Donna Cannady and husband, Alan of Quincy, IL; two grandchildren, Chad Cannady and wife, Heather, and Stacy Miller and husband, Brant; three great-grandchildren, Tanner and Braxton Cannady and Hunter Miller all of Quincy, IL.; one brother, Donald Pflum of Wetumpka, AL, and dear friends Bob and Richelle Dunlap of Gentry, AR.
Mr. Pflum was reared in Knox County where he graduated from high school. He served in the United States Army January 5, 1951 through December 17, 1952. Francis has resided in Gentry, Arkansas since 1976. He has worked most of his life in residential carpentry work. He was an outdoorsman; he enjoyed fishing, gardening and farming work. Francis also enjoyed visiting and spending time with family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 24, 2012 at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Deacon Ken Berry will officiate the services.
Burial will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at Edina, MO with military honors conducted by the Cyril A. Graham American Legion Post #261 of Edina and the Knox County V.F.W. Memorial Post #4822.
Family will receive friends after 12:30 p.m. on Friday, February 24, 2012 until the time of services at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO
