Francis M. Parrish, age 89, of Edina, MO, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2012, in the LaBelle Manor Care Center in LaBelle, MO.
He was born in Knox County, MO, on June 23, 1922, the son of Davis Roscoe and Bessie Marie Fetters Parrish.
He was united in marriage to Betty Jo Longfellow, at Memphis, MO on November 1, 1947, and she preceded him in death on August 15, 2008. He was also preceded in death by his parents.
Surviving are one son David Francis Parrish and his wife Tina of Quincy, IL, one grandson Shawn Parrish of Palmyra, MO and one great grandson Dilan Parrish and several nieces and nephews.
Francis was raised in Knox County where he received his education. He was employed for several years in Sales at Quincy Hardware. After their retirement he and his wife bought a home at Lake Thunderhead near Unionville, MO, where they enjoyed boating and golf. They spent several years traveling in their motor home to Arizona, Florida, and Texas during the winter months.
Francis was a member of the Edina First Christian Church and Masonic Lodge # 16 at Memphis, MO. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and the time he spent on the farm.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2012, At the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Reverend Dewayne Wellborn will officiate the services. Burial will be in the Pauline Cemetery at Rutledge, MO.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 5, 2012, after 4 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina.
Masonic services will be held Tuesday at 8 p.m. in the Funeral Home conducted by Memphis Lodge # 16 of Memphis, MO.
