Frances Dorothy Wurtzberger, age 97, of LaBelle, MO, passed away Monday, May 1, 2017, in sunset Home in Quincy, IL.

She was born August 4, 1919, in Ashton, IL, the daughter of Frank and Kathryn Walters Weiser.  She was united in marriage to Woodrow Wilson "Woody" Wurtzberger, on February 22, 1939 in Dixon, IL and he preceded her in death on February 7, 2004.  Frances was also preceded in death by her parents, a son Robert Lee Wurtzberger, four brothers, George, Wilbur, Walter and Clarence Weiser, and a dear sister Lucille Sutton, two grandsons, John and Joe Wurtzberger and one great grandson Benjamin Wensing.

Surviving are four children, Woody (Mary) Wurtzberger of LaBelle, MO, Linda Anderson of Quincy, IL, David (Shirley) Wurtzberger of LaBelle, MO, and Andrew (Terry) Wurtzberger of Brainerd, MN, eleven grandchildren, Doug and Brian Wurtzberger, Debbie Jacobs, Penny Kapogiannis, Peggy Hoyle, Candy Woutzke, Rebecca Scheufele, Jason and Thomas Wurtzberger, Bronson Love, and Kim Rumsey, thirty great grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Frances received her education in Illinois and as a child in Dixon she would walk to school with her siblings and a good friend of her brothers, Ronald Reagan.

She and her husband moved to LaBelle in 1950 where they were engaged in farming North of LaBelle, MO.  She and her husband enjoyed traveling with their children and after retirement spent winters in Arizona.  She enjoyed life and her family and also enjoyed cooking.  She was baptized as a young girl, of the Christian Faith.  At 4'8" she was one of the strongest hard working women of her time.  She never gave up on anything, and loved her family dearly.  Frances will always be remembered by her beautiful smile, her love of baking and cooking, and her loving, kind generous heart to everyone she met.  She had a great love for all animals especially her dogs, birds and squirrels.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2017, in the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, MO.  Burial will be in the LaBelle Cemetery.  Chaplin Richard Martin will officiate the services.

Casket bearers will be Tom Wurtzberger, Doug Wurtzberger, Bryan Wurtzberger, Kevin Scheufele, Randy Dare and Tristan Howes.

Visitation will be held 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 5, 2017, in the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, MO.
