Evelyn Holt, age 84, of LaBelle, Missouri, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2010, in the Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.
She was born April 3, 1926, at Pennville, Missouri, the daughter of Joseph and Minta Marie Dehm Creason.
She was united in marriage to Ted McDonald and he preceded her in death. On April 6, 1946, at Quincy, Illinois she was united in marriage to John Holt and he preceded her in death on February 11, 1998.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Will and Leman Creason, three sisters, Eleanor Creason, Vera Shuey and Elsie Stiles, one son-in-law Donald Anthony, one daughter-in-law Laura McDonald, one granddaughter Sharon Brinkman, and one great great grandson Dakota John Anthony.
Surviving are five children, Darold McDonald and wife Mary of Ewing, Missouri, Harold McDonald of Quincy, Illinois, Elmer Arthur Holt and wife Marsha of Kirksville, Missouri, Dixie Anthony of LaBelle, Missouri, and Rosemary Schultz and husband Fred of Colona, Illinois, one sister Katha Deitz of Sioux City, Iowa, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Evelyn was raised at Pennville, Missouri where she received her education. She was a housewife and homemaker. She was employed for many years at Whites Grill in Quincy, Illinois and for the past several years has resided in LaBelle, Missouri. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, crocheting and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 8, 2010, at the LaBelle Cemetery. Reverend Mike Rash will officiate the services.
Casket bearers will be Michael Anthony, John Schultz, Allan Schultz, John Holt, Bradley Reiner, and Ted McDonald.
There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the Knox City Assembly of God Church. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Coder Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 151, LaBelle, Missouri 63447.
