Ellen Griffith
(January 17, 1915 - November 19, 2013)

Ellen Griffith, age 98, of Edina, MO, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at the Clarence Care Center in Clarence, MO.
She was born January 17, 1915, in Keefer, OK, the daughter of James Oliver and Della Ellen Beacraft Love. On November 27, 1936, she was united in marriage to Christie Griffith. He preceded her in death in 1990.

Ellen is survived by one daughter, Dorothy Wilson of Moberly, MO; four grandchildren, Barbara Simpson, Tina Holtzel, Michael Wamsley and Rita Gaston; seven great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Richard Griffith; one sister-in-law, Virginia Folger; four nephews, James Love, Bob Love, Roger Folger and Ray Griffith and six nieces, Leah Rose, Gloria Hall, Janet Jeary, Donna Belt, Tresia Griffith and Ruth Ann Parsons.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her great-grandson, Joshua Wamsley; one sister, Princie Spruell; five brothers, Ira, Alfred, Ollen, Calvin and Infant Baby Love and one son-in-law, Dave Wilson. Ellen was a member of the Pawnee United Methodist Church in Pawnee, OK and a 50 year member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed gardening, candle making, raising dogs and flowers. Her greatest joy was the time she spent working on the farm with her husband, they farmed all day and danced all night.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, on Thursday, November 21, 2013, at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Clarence, MO, with burial to follow at the Highland Cemetery in Pawnee, OK. Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home in Clarence on Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Memorials may be made to the Clarence Care Center.
