Elizabeth Louise (McKenzie) McAnulty Schutte, age 87, of Quincy, IL formerly of Knox County, MO passed away Friday, October 20, 2017, in Quincy, IL.

She was born November 10, 1929, in rural Knox County the daughter of Earl Tate and Ruth G. Anderson McKenzie.  She was united in marriage to Roland Joy McAnulty on June 4, 1950 in the Bee Ridge Methodist Church and he preceded her in death on July 15, 1989.

On January 1, 2002, in Quincy, IL she was married to Russell Schutte and he preceded her in death on July 4, 2015.  Elizabeth was also preceded in death by her parents.

Surviving are two children, Stephen Leslie (Mary) McAnulty of Quincy, IL, and Linda J. (Jeff) Bowker of Springfield, IL, one sister JoAnn (Hillis) Prather of Eudora, KS, three grandchildren, Amanda (Joshua) Patridge, Colin Schutte and fiancée Veronica Campos and Austin Schutte, one step grandson Joshua Brummet, four great grandchildren, Carly Patridge, Casey Patridge, Reagan Patridge and Liam Patridge, one niece Debbie (Wayne) Wolgast of Eudora, KS and one nephew Dale (Christine) Prather of Knox City, MO.

Elizabeth was born and raised on the family farm in the Bee Ridge community southeast of Edina, MO.  She received her education in Knox County Schools and graduated from Northeast MO State Teachers College in Kirksville, MO.  Elizabeth taught kindergarten for twenty-five years in Quincy, IL.  After her retirement from teaching she returned to the family farm in the Bee Ridge community.   After her marriage to Russell Schutte in 2002 she moved back to Quincy, IL.

Elizabeth was a member of the Bee Ridge Methodist Church where she had taught Sunday school and was also a member of Luther Memorial Church in Quincy, IL.

Elizabeth enjoyed taking care of her mother and family.  She was an amazing cook and loved hosting large family gatherings.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2017, in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, in Edina, MO.  Pastor Nancy Douglas will officiate the services.  Burial will be in the Bee Ridge Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Joshua Brummet, Joshua Patridge, Colin Schutte, Austin Schutte, Wayne Wolgast and Dale Prather.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 25, 2017, from 10 a.m. till time of services at 11 a.m. in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO.
