Dorothy Mae (Lowe) Mitchell, 92, formerly of Brashear, MO and resident of Park Ridge, IL, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2011 and was cremated there.  Dorothy's ashes will be buried on Sunday, September 15, 2024 next to her beloved husband in the Linville Cemetery in Edina, MO, in a private ceremony under the direction of the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home.

Dorothy was the daughter of the late Walter Cleveland "Cleve" Lowe and Ople May (Selby) Lowe and was born on March 13, 1919 in Adair County, MO.  On August 4, 1938 in Knox County, MO Dorothy was united in marriage to William Howard Mitchell of Edina, MO, who preceded her in death on June 16, 2006.  Dorothy and William moved to Chicago, IL in 1949 where they resided until moving to Park Ridge, IL in 2003.  She was also preceded in death by her sisters Eubia Lowe Moore and Leta Faye Lowe Moots.

She is survived by her beloved son Philip Howard (Julia) Mitchell, of Leawood, KS, beloved grandson Gregory Philip (Laura) Mitchell and two great-grandsons of Kansas City, MO.  Dorothy always spread joy and happiness wherever she went and continues to be sorely missed.
