Dorothy Virginia Biles, age 72, of LaBelle, Missouri, passed away Monday, December 21, 2009, at the LaBelle Manor Care Center in LaBelle, Missouri.
She was born March 11, 1937, in Quincy, Illinois, the daughter of Harry and Ruth Ann Ralston McCallister.
She was united in marriage to Joseph Lee Biles and he preceded her in death on May 1974. She was also preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, Elmer Lester, Leslie Jr., Lyndell, Donald William, Everett Lee and Charles Warren McCallister.
Surviving are four children, Mary Virginia Hullett and husband Andrew from Quincy, Illinois, Joseph Lee Biles, Jr., of LaBelle, Missouri, Howard Warren Biles of Berryville, Arkansas, and Rosemary Jett and husband John Alan of LaBelle, Missouri, two sisters, Rose M. Harris of Palmyra, Missouri and Elizabeth Louise Leonard of Lewistown, Missouri, seven grandchildren, Charles, Andrew and Rhoda Hullett, Tabitha Smith, Amanda Biles, James and Brookelynn Jett, seven great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dorothy was raised near Hull, Illinois and attended schools in Payson, Illinois.
She resided in Lewis, County most of her life where she was a housewife and homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church at Lewistown, Missouri. She enjoyed flowers and spending time with family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2009, at the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, Missouri. Reverend Sam Smith will officiate the services. Burial will be in the Memorial Cemetery at LaGrange, Missouri.
Musical selections will be "Old Rugged Cross", I'll Fly Away" and "How Great Thou Art".
Casket bearers will be Bill Murphy, Michael Jett, Randy Sharpe, Rodney Webster, Kevin Spratt, Roderick Webster.
Honorary bearers will be Rose M. Harris, Joseph Lee Biles, Howard W. Biles and James Jett.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 22, 2009, after 4 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, Missouri.
