Doris Ilene Turnbough age 95, of Edina, MO passed away Sunday, April 20, 2014, in the Knox County Nursing Home at Edina, MO.

She was born in Silvis, IL on March 10, 1919, the daughter of Owen L. and Bertha E. Gibson Clevenger.

She was married to Ivan Walker and he preceded her in death. On July 22, 1996, she married Reverend Luke Turnbough and he preceded her in death on January 13, 2006. Doris was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers Owen, Ralph and Clifford Clevenger, and three sisters Evelyn Stech, Esther Turnbough and Juanita Best.

Surviving are three step children Sharon Wells of Cedar Park, TX, Vicki Revel of Cedar Park, TX, and Reverend Dr. Mark Turnbough and Barbara of Lamar, MO, four step grandchildren, four step great grandchildren, one sister Joyce Berk and Don of Claremont, CA and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Doris graduated from High School at Kokomo, Indiana, received her Bachelor's of Arts Degree from Indiana Wesleyan University and her Masters of Arts Degree from University of Michigan.

In her earlier years she was the Dean of Women at Spring Arbor College in Spring Arbor, Michigan. Most of her life she enjoyed teaching English and Reading in Public Schools and home schooling in Michigan, Indiana and Missouri.

She was active in the Edina United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading, playing the piano and was active in the church where ever she lived.

Doris was cremated. Memorials services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2014, in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel in Edina, MO. Reverend Dr. Mark Turnbough will officiate the services. Burial will be in Kinder Cemetery at Cuba, MO.

Visitation will be held from Wednesday, April 23, 2014, from 10 a.m. till time of services at 11 a.m. in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO.
