Obituary

Dorene Hinkle, age 81, of Ewing, Missouri, formerly of Edina, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2010, in the Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.
She was born August 14, 1928, at New Bloomfield, Missouri the daughter of Elvie L. and Elizabeth Vaughan Nichols. She was united in marriage to Robert Stanley Hinkle on January 24, 1947, at Reno, Nevada and he preceded her in death on November 29, 1996.
Dorene was also preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers, Ubert, Frank, John, Ray, James, Glenn and Edward Nichols, and three sisters, Mary Wallace, Etta Franks, and Imogene Brink.
Surviving are two children, Linda Corbin and husband Bob of LaGrange, Missouri, and Stanley Hinkle and wife Patricia of Ewing, Missouri, three grandchildren, Kimberly Eaton and husband Wally, Lori Miller and husband Kevin and Sara Rayl and husband Matt, six great grandchildren, Krystal Kaufmann, Kendall Eaton, Anthony, Brookelyn, and Payton Miller, Mason Rayl, one sister-in-law, Esther Begemann of Canton, Missouri and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dorene attended schools at New Bloomfield, Missouri and Napa, California. She lived most of her life in Edina, Missouri where she had been employed at Burnham Glove Factory for several years and also McGraw-Edison in Kirksville, Missouri. She enjoyed doing volunteer work at the Knox County Nursing Home, collecting dishes and dolls, and quilting. She loved spending time with her dog Abbey, her children and especially her grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, April 1, 2010, at Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri. Reverend Sam Smith will officiate the services. Burial will be in the Park View Memorial Gardens.
Special music will be provided by Matt Rayl.
Casket bearers will be Kevin Miller, Wally Eaton, Bob Corbin, Matt Rayl, Red Callahan, and Paul Parsons.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 31, 2010, after 4 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.
