Donna Maurline Moots, 74 of Hurdland, MO passed away early Sunday, July 9, 2023 at Landmark Hospital in Columbia, MO.

The daughter of Leon Elwood and Betty (Henry) Barnhill, she was born March 19, 1949 in Galesburg, Knox County, Illinois. On December 25, 1965 she married Charles Richard Hayes and to this union three children were born, Patti, Chuck and Jennifer. On July 10, 1982 at the Nazarene Church of Hurdland she was united in marriage to Glen E. Moots and added four more children to her family, Howard, Robert, Rebecca, and Roger. A few years later nephew David Moots was added to their family as one of their own.

Donna is survived by her husband, Glen of Hurdland MO; children, Patti (Troy) Mihalevich of Kirksville MO, Chuck Hayes and special friend Paige Brown of Kirksville MO, Howard Moots of Phoenix AZ, Jennifer Klocke and special friend Jamie Nichols of Edina MO, Robert (Elaine) Moots of Kirksville MO, Rebecca (Eddie) Peterson of Kirksville MO, Roger (Samantha) Moots of Camdenton MO, and special nephew David (Billie) Moots of Rowan IA; 23 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Vicky (Joe) Taboada of El Paso, TX, Janice Stewart of Englewood, FL, Gary Barnhill of Galesburg, IL, Sandra Jones of Kirksville, Luther (Karen) Green of Hurdland; brothers and sisters-in-law, Sandy Barnhill of Baring, Leon Moots of Hurdland, Eleanor "Sis" Moots of Kansas City, MO, Sue Guthrie of Lakewood, FL and Jewel Moots of Dodge City, KS; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Betty Barnhill; her parents-in-law, Raymond and Carrie Moots; a brother, Allen (Casey) Keith Barnhill; brothers-in-law, Ron Stewart, Ronnie Jones, William Moots, Leonard Moots, George Earl Moots, Donald Moots, Ira Moots; and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Moots.

In 1982 Donna received her LPN license and was employed at Twin Pines in Kirksville until 1993. At that time she attended truck driving school and acquired her CDL license. She and Glen went trucking all over the United States together. Later she returned to nursing at Twin Pines until her retirement.

She enjoyed crocheting, reading, gardening and flowers. Donna had a weakness for banana Twinkies they were her favorite. She was an active member of the Nazarene Church of Hurdland. Donna especially enjoyed her family and grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 13, 2023 with a funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 14, 2023 at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina.  Pastor Nancy Douglas and Troy Mihalevich will officiate the services. Music will be by Lacey Mihalevich and Taylor Sifford.

Pallbearers will be Rick Hayes, Tyler Walton, Nathen Peterson, Logan Klocke, Justice Moots and Tommy Hayes. Honorary bearers will be Mori Moots, Colton Moots, Gus Hayes, Jamie Nichols, Jake Kenyon, Eddie Peterson, Harold VanSickle, Darrell Klocke, Billy Walton and Randy Walton.  Interment will be at the I.O.O. F. Cemetery in Hurdland, MO.

Memorials in memory of Donna Moots may be made to the I.O.O.F. Cemetery or Brashear United Methodist Church. The memorials may be left at or mailed to the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1, Edina, MO 63537
