Donna Lee Cardwell, age 82, of Hurdland, MO, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2025 at Boone Hospital in Columbia, MO surrounded by family. She was born in Edina, MO on December 5, 1942, the daughter of Hollie Eugene and Eva Lavon Barnes Hatfield.
She was united in marriage to Leroy Cardwell and to this union four children were born. Leslie, Mark, Lesa and Tony.
Surviving are her mother Eva Hatfield of Knox City, children Leslie (Kim) Cardwell of Edina, MO, Mark (Rhonda) Cardwell of Edina, MO, Lesa (Richard) Noe of Brashear, MO, and Tony Cardwell of Fulton, MO, three brothers, Donald Hatfield of Hurdland, MO, David Hatfield of Edina, MO, and Virgil Hatfield of Ewing, MO, sister-in-law Susie Hatfield, nine grandchildren, Evan (Luisa) Cardwell, Bryce (Rylie) Cardwell, Mindy (Nathan) Flickinger, Billy (Beth) Cardwell, Junior (Jessica) Cardwell, Clancy Noe, Gus Noe, Danielle Cardwell and Dillon Cardwell, nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Donna was preceded in death by her father, one brother Dale Hatfield, one sister Betty Lavon Michel and one brother-in-law David Michel.
She attended and graduated from Knox City High School at Knox City, MO in 1961. Donna was employed as a waitress, Secretary for Cardwell Lumber INC, cashier for Grim-Smith and NE Regional Hospital in the cafeteria, worked as a caregiver for Knox County and LaBelle RCF.
Donna loved everything about being outdoors from taking care of the cattle when she was on the farm, mowing her yard, planting trees and flowers. Most of all she enjoyed being with her family attending their demo derbies, ballgames, horseshows, cattle shows, etc. Donna loved and supported her family, children, and grandkids. Donna could be found wherever family was as she was their biggest fan and cheerleader.
She will be greatly missed by family, friends, and many others in the community.
Casket bearers: Evan Cardwell, Bryce Cardwell, Billy Cardwell, Junior Cardwell, Clancy Noe, Gus Noe, and Dillon Cardwell.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 14, 2025, in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Pastor Mike Myers will officiate the services. Burial will be in Knox City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 13, 2025, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO.
