Donald (Donnie) Lee Rourke , age 74, went home to be with Jesus Thursday, April 24, 2014, at the home of his brother and sister-in-law in Parsons, KS.

He was born February 3, 1940, in Edina, MO, to Patrick Leo Rourke and Viola M. (Stutsman) Rourke-Parish. He was raised in the rural Novelty, MO area.

Donnie moved to parsons in 1995 and worked at the Class Ltd. Workshop, later retiring from Country Mart grocery store. He was a member of the Locust Hill Community Church in Locust Hill, MO and faithfully attended the Parsons Foursquare Church. He loved fishing, playing checkers, watching old western movies and helping other people.

Surviving are three brothers, Glennon Parish and wife Jane of Parsons, KS, Ronald Rourke and wife Pamela of Vandalia, MO and Gary Parish, two sisters Velva Steele and husband Clinton of LaPlata, MO, Phyllis Gordon of Shelbyville, MO; a sister-in-law, Kay Parish of Fayetteville, Arkansas, a brother-in-law, John McGlothlin of Hurdland, MO, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his step father Alva Parish; three brothers Freddy Rourke, Stephan Ray Parish and David Loyd Parish; two sisters Carroll Hoffman and Melissa Jo McGlothlin; and two brothers-in-law, Bruce Hoffman and Harold Gordon.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2014, at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Reverend Paul Milliken will officiate the services. Burial will be in the Locust Hill Cemetery.

Music will be provided by Beverly Maddex, Kaitlyn Maddex and Nick Maddex. Selections will be "One Day At A Time" and "Beyond The Sunset".

Casket bearers will be Rusty Steele, Mike Daniel, Tom Daniel, Randy Gordon, Ernie Maddex and Billy McGlothlin.

Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. till time of services at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2014, at Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO.
