Donald R. (Donnie Ray) Carper, age 68, of LaBelle MO, passed away Monday, March 31, 2014, at his home south of LaBelle, MO.

Donnie Ray was born July 12, 1945, in LaBelle, MO. The son of Roy Lewis and Hazel Parrish Carper. He was united in marriage to Sherry Ritter and to that union two children were born. On August 30, 1985, he was united in marriage to Jennilee Hustead, in Lewistown MO.

Donnie is survived by his wife Jennilee Carper of LaBelle, MO. His two children, Michael Todd Carper of Steffenville, MO and Renee Elizabeth Scoggin and Steve of LaBelle MO. One step-son Travis Hustead and Amy of Durham MO. Five surviving siblings; Paul L. Carper of Quincy, IL, Dianne L. Ten Eyck and Ron Richardson, Betty Scifres and Denny, Susan See and Clay, and Regina Chapman and Kenny all of LaBelle MO. One half sister Dorothy Ann Ausmus of Congerville, IL, and one aunt, Eleandor Detweiler, of Texas. His grandchildren, Matthew and Michael Scoggin, Jonathan Williams, Brett, Reitz, and Braeden Carper, Macy and Molly Hustead, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Donnie Ray graduated from LaBelle High School. He was employed for fifty years in the fertilizer business in LaBelle MO. He enjoyed fast pitch softball, basketball, restoring muscle cars and his animals. He was a member of the LaBelle Christian Church. Donnie was an avid bow hunter that enjoyed hunting elk and turkey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two half-brothers, Charles and Leroy Carper and a sister-in-law, Sharon Carper.

Donnie will be cremated and no services will be held. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 after 5pm. Family will be receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, MO.

The family requests no flowers, only memorials to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Northeast MO. Memorials may be left or mailed to Coder Funeral Chapel, P.O. box 151, LaBelle, MO 63447.
