Donald Edward Blake, age 82, of Columbia, MO, formerly of Edina, MO passed away Friday, September 30, 2016, in Columbia, MO.
Donald was born August 3, 1934, at Knox City, MO, the son of Justin and Wilma Stice Blake. He was united in marriage to Bonnie Florea and to this union five children were born. Surviving are four children James (Carol) Blake, of Springfield, MO, Michael Blake of Springfield, MO, Anita Atteberry and her friend Raymond Larabee of Edina, MO, and Randall Blake of Columbia, MO, three brothers, Robert (Pat) Blake of Quincy, IL, Leon (Harriett) Blake of Edina, MO, and Eldon (Velma) Blake of Southwest City, MO, two sisters Peggy Motter of Edina, MO and Nadine Parrott of Wichita, KS, eight grandchildren , ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, one son Stephen Blake, one brother Billy Dean Blake and one sister Laree Burkhardt.
Donald received his education in Edina. He served his country in the United States Navy from December 12, 1951 to July 28, 1955. Donald was employed for several years in Edina with Marbles Ready Mix, Edina Police Department and as a Dispatcher for Knox County Sheriff's office. Donald was an avid fisherman and enjoyed visiting with friends and family. He was a member of the Edina Assembly of God Church.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2016, in the Linville Cemetery in Edina, MO. Karen Stone will officiate the services. Music will be provided by Lisa and Laura Blake.
Casket bearers will be Frank Crabtree, Allen Gudehus, Charlie Hamlin, Frank Hamlin, Eldon Klocke and Brent Karhoff.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4, 2016, in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO.
