Diamond Doris Miller, age 94, of Knox City, MO, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2015, in the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, MO.
She was born at Knox City, MO on September 15, 1921, the daughter of Howard Otho and Eva Ellen Goodwin Walter.
She was united in marriage to Roy Eno Miller on June 2, 1940, in Kirksville, MO and he preceded her in death on December 31, 2010. Doris was also preceded in death by her parents, one son Daniel Ray (Danny) Miller, four sisters, Ethel Pinson, Edna Lumley, Georgia Pulse, Violet Oesterle and two brothers, Raymond Walter and Ellis Walter, sister-in-law Leona Miller and several other brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Surviving are three sons, Donald Roy Miller and wife Marilyn of Knox City, MO, Michael Lynn Miller of Knox City, MO, and Mark Kevin Miller and friend Amy Bunker of Knoxville, IA, ten grandchildren, Kevin (Lori) Miller, Terry Miller, Kelly (Rachel) Miller, Amanda (Don) Borgmeyer, Jimmy (Sarah) Miller, Sherry (Curtiss) Baker, Candi (Dana) Harder, Michelle Miller, Melinda (Chandler) Nunnikhoven, Melanie Miller, two step grandchildren Jennifer (Kim) Hall and Brent Franke, twenty great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, three sisters, Beulah Turpin and husband Russell of Edina, MO, Bonnie Mauck of LaBelle, MO, and Millie Hamlin of Edina, MO, a sister-in-law Clara Baker, a niece Kathy Arhangelos, and a nephew Kenny Miller, all of Michigan and several other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Doris received her education at the Vice rural school northeast of Edina, MO. She and her husband lived in rural Knox City, MO where they were engaged in farming and raising livestock. Doris enjoyed gardening, cooking playing the organ and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Knox City Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, October 4, 2015, in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in #Edina, MO. Officiating the services will be Reverend Doug Wilson. Burial will be in the Colony Cemetery.
Musical selections will be Sweet Bye and Bye, Great Speckled Bird, Suppertime and Bring It On Home.
Casket bearers will be John Dennis Mauck, Randy Mauck, Richard Mauck, Darrell Hamlin, Mike Hamlin, Larry Lumley and Jody Mauck.
Honorary bearers will be Jimmy Miller, Kevin Miller, Kelly Miller, Terry Miller, Dana Harder, Curtis Baker, Brent Franke, Don Borgmeyer and Chandler Nunnikhoven.
Visitation will be held after 4 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2015, with family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO.
