Deborah Ann (Hargrave) Dick, 61, of Knox City, Mo, passed away on November 16 th , 2022 peacefully at her home.
Debbie was born on September 22, 1961 to Frances (Tedder-Hargrave) Mauck and Kenneth Hargrave in Lawton, OK. Debbie later gained a second father, Bobby Mauck, after her father Kenneth was killed in combat during the Vietnam war. Debbie graduated from Knox County RI in 1979 and later attended Columbia College completing her Bachelor's in Psychology.
In 1981, Debbie found herself in her favorite role and became mother to her first child. Debbie met the love of her life, Jim Dick, in 1986. They were wed on October 17 th of 1986. Debbie dedicated her life to being a loving and wonderful mother, wife, and later grandmother. Debbie excelled at propping up her loved ones and supporting them through the many passions and difficulties of their lives. Whether that was through her role as a mother, sister, friend, coach, or counselor, Debbie made it her mission to improve the lives of others and create a smile.
In recent years, besides spending time with her family, Debbie found joy in creating jewelry and bead crafts and snuggling with her dogs, Lizzy and Cash. Debbie will be remembered by many for her listening ear, friendly personality and love for all those around her.
Debbie was preceded in death by her father Kenneth, her mother Frances and stepfather Bobby. Debbie is survived by her husband, Jim, of the home; four children, son Jeremy (LaMayra) Hicks of Knox City, MO, son James (LaTrisha) Hicks of Kirksville, MO, daughter Amanda Cannady of Knox City, and son Dorian Tedder, (Brieanna Wells) of Las Cruces, NM; 1 sister, Angie (Clint) Miller of Edina, 2 brothers, Robert Mauck of Ewing and Kenneth (Juliet) Hargrave of Hannibal and sister in law Sherri Mauck of Knox City, 5 grandchildren: Paul and Abigail Hicks of Kirksville, Jaydin and Laila Hicks of Knox City and Alexus Cannady of Quincy, Ill. Debbie is also survived by her nieces and nephews, a large extended family and her best friend, Andrea Norton of Labelle, MO.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 21 st at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edina, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial. Following Mass inurnment will be held in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
