Obituary

Dallas Dwain Perrigo, age 69, of Edina, MO, passed away Monday, April 30, 2018, in the University of Missouri Medical Center in Columbia, MO.  He was born July 9, 1948, in Kirksville, MO, the son of Dallas Wilson and Ilene Oaks Perrigo.   He was united in marriage to Ellen Hunter on May 9, 1994, in Las Vegas, NV and she survives.

Dwain lived his entire life in Knox County and was the owner of Perrigo Body Shop and Salvage Yard since 1979.  For several years he owned and operated the Spot Tavern in Edina.  Dwain enjoyed working, traveling, camping, and having a good time with his family and friends.  Dwain was a member of the Kirksville Loyal Order of the Moose, Greensburg Masonic Lodge # 414 A.F. & A.M., York Rite Masonic Bodies, Moila Shrine Temple in St. Joseph, MO and was a committee member of the Class of 1966.

Surviving are his wife Ellen Perrigo of Edina, MO, step children Jimmy (Tracy) Hunter of Kirksville, MO, Gary Hunter of Kirksville, MO, Billy (Belinda) Hunter of Edina, MO, Kevin (Tabitha) Shanley of Edina, MO, Karen Shanley (Kim) Meinhardt of Memphis, MO, his longtime employee and best friend Sarah (Bobby) Huffman of Edina, MO, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, one brother Dennis (Pat) Perrigo of Oak Grove, MO, a sister Linda Galloway of Kirksville, MO and his favorite pal his dog Tippy.

Dwain was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister Margaret Perrigo, a son Darin Dwain Perrigo, his mother-in-law Belle Mullenix and an infant grandchild Jeremy Hunter.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, May 5, 2018, in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO.  Pastor David Atkins will officiate the services.  Burial will be in Park View Memorial Gardens in Kirksville, MO.

Musical selections will be Seven Spanish Angels and Prop Me Up Beside the Jukebox (If I Die).

Casket bearers will be Richard Clark, Larry Klocke, Ivan Hall, John Dennis Mauck, Bob Ward and Scott Hoffman. Honorary bearers will be Jimmy Hunter, Billy Hunter, Gary Hunter, Zach Hunter, Brett Hunter, Bobby Huffman, Max Montgomery, Kevin Shanley and Perrigo Body Shop employees.

Visitation will be held after 3 p.m. Friday, May 4, 2018, with family receiving friends from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO.  Masonic services will be held Friday, May 4, 2018 at 8 p.m. conducted by Greensburg Lodge # 414 A.F. & A.M.
