Obituary

Cleta Pearl Sparrow, age 78, of Lewistown, Missouri, passed away Sunday, January 10, 2010, at the Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal, Missouri.
She was born November 18, 1931, in Lewis County the daughter of Irvin T. and Hettie Helena Parrish Franks.
She was united in marriage to Wayne Edward "Pork" Sparrow on September 26, 1953, and he preceded her in death on March 24, 2006.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Opal Eversole and Neva Roberts and one brother Donald Franks.
Surviving are four children, Debbie Waibel and husband Ron of West Monroe, Louisiana, Cherie McCarty, Ron Sparrow and wife Deb, and Donna Campbell and husband Matt all of Lewistown, Missouri, one brother Dan Franks and wife Carol of Smyrna, Tennessee, one sister Ina Austin of Lewistown, Missouri, ten grandchildren, seven step grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, one great great grandson and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Cleta was raised in the Lewistown area where she received her education in the Turner rural school at Midway and graduated from Lewistown High School.
Cleta was employed for sometime at Quincy Speaker in Quincy, Illinois, owned and operated the Hut Tavern in Lewistown, and was a bookkeeper at Lewistown State Bank for 10 years. She attended the Freedom of Christ Church at Lewistown, Missouri.
Cleta enjoyed reading, flowers, crocheting and embroidering. She loved the outdoors and was a life member of the Deer Ridge Trail riders and also enjoyed camping and trail rides.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 13, 2010, at the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, Missouri. Reverend Sam Smith will officiate the services. Burial will be in the Lewistown Cemetery.
Musical selections will be "Angel" and "How Great Thou Art".
Casket bearers will be Eddie Klocke, David Drebenstedt, Tom Bowen, Rick Sparrow, Scot Sparrow, and Randy Leckbee.
Honorary bearers will be Josh Campbell, Blain Bowen, Nate Burns, Jon Burns and Mitchell Smith.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 12, 2010, after 4 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, Missouri.
Memorials in memory of Cleta Pearl Sparrow may be made to the American Heart Association or the Donor's Choice. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Coder Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 151, LaBelle, Missouri, 63447.
