Charles Duane “Chuck” Howerton, age 85, of Hurdland, MO passed away Friday, April 10, 2026, in the Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL. He was born March 24, 1941 in Kansas City, MO

Charles was the son of Thomas and Helen Faye Eisenhower Howerton. He came to Hurdland when he was five years old and was adopted by Thomas Howerton.

Charles was united in marriage to Jackie Clary on October 15, 1979 in Hurdland, MO.

Chuck lived most of his life in the Hurdland community where he was engaged in farming on the family farm. He enjoyed tractors, tools, hunting, watching westerns and always wanted the best truck.

Surviving are his wife Jackie Howerton of Hurdland, MO, three children, Charlotte (Rick) Anders of Hurdland, MO, Brian (Millie) Howerton of Hurdland, MO, and Tom (Cassie) Howerton of Kansas City, MO, one sister Nita (Rich) Wingate of Stormlake, IA, twelve grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren, he was preceded in death by his parents, a half brother Dean Pettyjohn and a step brother Delbert Howerton.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 18, 2026, in the Assembly Of God Church in Edina, MO. Visitation will begin Saturday at 9 a.m. and services will follow at 11 a.m. Pastor Brian Burton will officiate the services. Burial will be in the Linville Cemetery.

Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina is in charge of arrangements.
