Obituary

Charles William Ewalt, age 82, of Knox City, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois. He was born February 4, 1929, at Knox City, Missouri, the son of Fred and Nellie Rae House Ewalt.
Surviving are four sisters, Roberta Agee of Edina, Missouri, Jewel See of Colony, Missouri, Carol Pemberton of Eldon, Missouri, Alice Gipson and husband Roger of Edina, Missouri, four brothers, Byron Ewalt of Edina, Missouri, Garland Ewalt and wife Betty of Mesa, Arizona, Roy Ewalt and wife Mary Lois of Monmouth, Illinois, Albert Ewalt and wife Deloris of Kahoka, Missouri, a sister-in-law Barbara Ewalt of Baring, Missouri and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Anna Louise and one brother John Arthur Ewalt.
Charlie attended school at Island rural school and graduated from Knox City High School. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean conflict from March 2, 1951 to December 2, 1952. Charlie was loved by his family and friends. He enjoyed visiting with everyone and was a good neighbor to all. He farmed, raised livestock and enjoyed showing his horses at horse shows. Charlie was a fifty year member of Colony Masonic Lodge # 168, a fifty year member of Colony Eastern Star Chapter #543, member of the Moila Shrine of St. Joseph, Missouri, a fifty year member of Knox City American Legion Post # 358, a life member of Knox County Memorial Post # 4822 V.F.W. and a member of Knox City United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday, April 9, 2011, at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri. Reverend Doug Wilson and Reverend Mike Wilson will officiate the services. Burial with full military honors will be in the Knox City Cemetery conducted by Knox City American Legion Post #358. Music will be provided by Reverend Doug and Reverend Mike Wilson, vocalist singing "Go Rest High On that Mountain", "Inside The Eastern Gate" and "Amazing Grace". An organ selection, "The Wabash Cannon Ball", Charlies favorite song will be played.
Casket bearers will be Lynn Ewalt, Clay See, Ed See, Allan See, Ralph Agee, Fred Carter Ewalt, Tony Ewalt, Mike Hawkins, Paul Hawkins, Johann Ewalt, Franz Ewalt, George Ewalt and Bradley Ewalt.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 8, 2011, after 4 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.
Masonic Rites will be held Friday, April 8, 2011, at 7:30 p.m. in the Funeral Home conducted by Colony Lodge
#168 A.F. & A.M.
