Carmen Dale Kessler age 92, of LaBelle, MO passed away Thursday, September 19, 2024, in Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal, MO. She was born June 30, 1932, in Colony, MO the daughter of Burley Randolph and Emma Lillian Lanz Hustead.
She was united in marriage to Albert Ralph Kessler March 4, 1950 in Kirksville, MO and he preceded her in death on July 7, 2020. Carmen was also preceded in death by her parents, two sons Scott Craig Kessler and Jerry Keith Kessler, five sisters, Anna Mae Hudson, Wilda Marie Hudson, Sandy Walker, Shirley Jean Wheeler and Bonnie Forsythe and five brothers, Vernon, Orville, Earl Lee, Larry and Harry Hustead.
Surviving are five children, Debra (Terry) Guinn of Knox City, MO, Kelly (Jeannie) Kessler of Quincy, IL, Patti (Tim) Woodard of LaBelle, MO, Terry Alan Kessler of LaBelle, MO, and Tracy Albert (Anna) Kessler of Williamstown, MO, fifteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one brother Elza Hustead of Edina, MO, several nieces and nephews, one brother-in-law and several sisters-in-law.
Carmen attended school in Colony, MO. She worked in several factories in the area and owned Kessler's Bar in LaBelle for several years. She and her husband worked several years at Motel 6. Carmen was a strong loving mother and grandmother who loved her family and grandchildren very much. She enjoyed bowling, bingo, driving her scooter around LaBelle, and watching the St. Louis Cardinals. She had also enjoyed taking trips with her sisters the past twenty-seven years across the United States.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, September 23, 2024 in the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, MO. Reverend Lance Bonnell will officiate the services. Burial will be in the Knox City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Sunday, September 22, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, MO
Casket bearers will be Nathaniel Parrish, Coby Kessler, Mark Stroud, Terry Kessler, Tracy Kessler, Kelly Kessler and Luke Pivoroff.
Memorials are suggested to the Knox City Cemetery. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Coder Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 151, LaBelle, MO 63447.
