Scottie Carlisle Holbert age 86 of rural Knox City, MO passed away Thursday morning, December 14, 2023 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.

Carlisle was born May 12, 1937 in Lewistown, MO. The son of Scottie and Fern Holbert.

On September 15, 1957 he was united in marriage to Shirley Ann Hofen who preceded him in death on March 6, 2009.  He was also preceded in death by his parents and a daughter-in-law, Lori Holbert.

Surviving are one daughter, Cathi Zalusky and husband, Chris of Douglass, KS; one son, Donald Holbert and wife, Rose of Springfield, IL; one sister, Coleen Morrison of Oklahoma; and four grandchildren, Ashley Tobald and husband, Tyler and their son, Cooper, Allison Zalusky, Donald Holbert Jr. and Maxwell McCray and wife, Raelyn.

Carlisle was raised by Jessie and Lottie Huse.  He graduated from LaBelle High School in the Class of 1956.  He was engaged in farming on the family farm and for many years also worked in demolition of all types.  Carlisle was a member of the Newark Full Gospel Church and the Newark Christian Church.

His hobbies included auctions, antiques, attending the Lollie Brothers exotic animal sales, old cars and telling jokes.  Carlisle enjoyed visiting and telling stories with friends and especially with his family.

Visitation will be held 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 18, 2023 at the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, MO. Burial will be at the LaBelle Cemetery, LaBelle, MO
