Obituary

Carl Leon Franks, age 89, of Lewistown, Missouri, formerly of LaBelle, passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 in the Country Aire Retirement Estates of Lewistown, Missouri.
He was born on April 27, 1919, the son of Roy R. and Beulah Boone Franks.
On June 15, 1940, he married Leta Belle McCabe and she preceded him in death on September 21, 1978.
Leon was a farmer for most of his life; he had also driven a feed truck for the M.F.A. at LaBelle. He was a member of the LaBelle Saddle Club and enjoyed participating in their activities. He loved hunting, especially deer season, when his friends gathered at the home of his son, Dean. He had attended a one room school during his elementary school days. In his later years, he enjoyed fishing and mowing grass with his little Massey.
He is survived by a daughter, Judy Darnell and husband Tom of Monticello, Missouri;
one son, Mike Franks and wife Tammy of Sevierville, Tennessee; eight grandchildren: Susan Tanner, Glenn Franks, Jason Darnell, Angela Raleigh, Jessica and Kathleen Franks, and Michael Shane Franks and several great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Leta, two sons: Carl Leon Jr. at birth, Roy Dean Franks in2006, and a brother and his wife, Bobby Dean and Doris Franks.
A family graveside service will be at 10:00AM, Saturday, January 10, 2009 in the Lewistown Cemetery.
