Bertha LaQuita (Glenn) Ritter, age 73, of Steffenville, MO, passed away Friday, December 30, 2011, at her home.
She was born January 4, 1938, at Canton, MO, the daughter of Ira and Louise Viola Fox Glenn.
On July 27, 1954, she was united in marriage to Kenneth William Ritter at Steffenville, MO. Surviving are her husband Kenneth of Steffenville, MO, three children, Yvonne L. Stone and husband David of Steffenville, MO, Beverly L. Ritter Bowen of Steffenville, MO, and Peggy Jo Ritter and friend Cindy Disseler of Quincy, IL, one brother Richard "Dick" Glenn of Hannibal, MO, one sister Nellie V. Snodgrass of Palmyra, MO, two grandchildren Jason and Amanda Stone of Steffenville, MO, Jesse Wm. and Lyann Ritter of Steffenville, MO, four great grandchildren, Tanner Stone, Tucker Stone, Marilyn Ritter and Natalie Ritter of Steffenville, MO, two step great grandchildren, Luke and Lane Allen of Steffenville, MO, one sister-in-law Janice Carter and husband Tom of Maywood, MO, a niece Jana Hattey and husband Joe of Maywood, MO and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers, John H. Glenn, William "Bill" Glenn and James "Jim" Glenn.
Bertha received her education at Philadelphia, MO. She and her husband have resided south of Steffenville, MO for the past fifty-seven years.
Bertha was a member of the Red Hat Club, treasurer of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church for several years, worked at Motorola in Quincy, IL for eleven years, served as secretary at Master Tank and Welding at Quincy, IL, was employed at Bueter Baking Co. in Quincy, IL, was employed as billing supervisor at St. Mary's Hospital in Quincy for nine years and was employed at Lesser Stauffer Trucking in West Quincy and Palmyra, MO. Bertha enjoyed quilting and spending time with her family especially her grandsons and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Monday, January 2, 2012, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Ewing Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at the Ewing Baptist Church. Brother Tim Smith will officiate the services. Burial will be in the Steffenville Cemetery.
Musical selections will be "One Day At A Time", "This World Is Not My Home" and "His Eye Is On the Sparrow".
Casket bearers will be Matt Bridgman, Ronnie Buswell, Kevin Kelley, Denny Dawson, Bill Knoche and Kenny Goings.
