Barbara Shultz, age 82, of Rutledge, MO, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2012, in the University Hospital in Columbia, MO. She was born March 11, 1930, in Memphis, MO, the daughter of Virgil and Sylvia Mallett Phinney. On May 23, 1948, at Memphis, MO she was united in marriage to Edwin Leroy Shultz and he preceded her in death on March 14, 2006. Also preceding her in death were her parents, one grandson, Kevin Shultz, one brother Virgil C. Phinney and one sister Louise Shultz.
Surviving are four children, Dennis Shultz and wife Bobbi of Kirksville, MO, Darlene Daniels and husband Larry of Kirksville, MO, Darrell Shultz and wife Lisa of Rutledge, MO, and Diana Brown and husband Jason of Normal, IL, seven grandchildren, Brian Shultz and wife Katrina, Steve Hall and wife Judy, Angela Meng and husband Stan, Michelle Guttman and husband Dave, Cory Shultz, Collin Shultz, Payton Brown, eight great grandchildren, Aiden Shultz, Brittney Eitel, Jennifer Daeumler, Courtney Smith, Jordan Meng, Sammie Meng, Jackson Guttman and Madeline Guttman, one sister Eileen Borensen of Troy, MO, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Barbara received her education at Memphis, MO where she graduated from High School in 1948. She and her husband were engaged in farming in the Rutledge, MO area for many years. She raised dogs, loved quilting, cooking, gardening and spending time with her children, grandchildren and her dog Lacey. She was a member of the New Testament Church in Rutledge, MO.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, April 15, 2012, in the Hudson-Rimer funeral Home in Edina, MO. Reverend Jim Brown will officiate the services. Burial will be in the Pauline Cemetery at Rutledge, MO. Music will be provided by Jim Clark. Musical selections will be "Old Rugged Cross" and "In The Garden".
Casket bearers will be Roger Shultz, Dustin Shultz, Randy Shultz, George Cunningham, Tyson Shultz and Andrew Parrish. Honorary bearers will be Paul Shultz, Doug Boley, Richard Shultz, Randy Brown and Bob Hunolt.
Visitation will be held Saturday, April 14, 2012, after 4 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO.
