Obituary

Anna Marie (Clote) White age 90 formerly of Edina, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 in Boone Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. She had been a resident of Kirksville, Missouri for the past several years.
She was born November 14, 1920, Northwest of Knox City, Missouri in Knox County. Her parents were Henry L. and Elizabeth (Weber) Clote. On July 24, 1944, she was united in marriage to Patrick Joseph White at Saint Joseph's Catholic Church in Edina. He preceded her in death in September of 1977. She was also preceded in death by her parents as well as by her sister-in-law, Mary (White) McMahon and her brother-in-law, John Robert Poston.
She is survived by five sons: John Patrick of Edina, Lawrence Paul of Kirksville, Michael Richard of Durham, North Carolina, William Henry (Debra) of New Lenox, Illinois and Donald Lee (Ellen) of Hilliard, Ohio; two daughters: Patricia Ann of Overland Park, Kansas and Pamela Katheryn (Daniel) Gordon of Warrensburg, Missouri; one sister: Margaret (Clote) Poston of Kirksville; five grandchildren: Eileen S. (Ben) Stierhoff, Patrick S. White, Joseph S. White, Katheryn Ann Gordon, Michael William White; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. White received her grammar school education at White Oak and Crem rural schools in Knox County. In 1939 she graduated from Saint Joseph High School in Edina. She spent most of her life in Knox County before moving to Kirksville, Missouri. Before her marriage she worked at the social security office and the Wells Lamont Glove Factory in Edina. She and her husband were engaged in farming Northeast of Edina for several years before moving to Edina in 1951. She was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church and Saint Ann's Altar Society, as well as being actively involved with OATS. As a housewife she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She also loved traveling and sightseeing, as well as history and telling stories about her life and past events.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, April 16, 2011 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edina, Missouri. Father Joseph Hoi will officiate the services. Music will be provided by Nancy Reardon, organist and Brent Karhoff, soloist. Special vocal selections will be "The Lord Is My Shepherd", "Precious Memories", "Be Not Afraid" and "Ava Maria".
Burial will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at Edina, Missouri. Casket bearers will be Travis Poston, Dillion Poston, Bobby Poston, Joseph White, Dennis McMahon and Mike McMahon.
Visitation will be held 6 – 8 p.m., Friday, April 15, 2011 at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri. A prayer service will be at 7:30 p.m., Friday. April 15, 2011 at the funeral home.
