Obituary

Angela Dawn Hayes, age 37, of Knox City, Mo, passed away, Monday, March 31, 2014 at her home in Knox City, MO.

On June 26, 2004, she was united in marriage to Mike Hayes, who survives.

Angie was the daughter of Karen Kigar Light of Bethel, MO and Paul Gardner of Overland Park, KS. She was born November 5, 1976 in Kirksville, MO.

She is survived by her mother, Karen Light, her father and stepmother, Paul and Johanna Gardner; two step-brothers, Brandon and Corbin, her grandmother, Essie Brown of Edina, a mother-in-law, Helen Hayes of Knox City, a sister-in-law, Nancy Louise Stice and husband, Larry of Lewistown, two nieces, Nikki Routt and husband, JR of Lewistown and Ashley Hultz and husband, Chris also of Lewistown, an uncle, Terry Kigar of Texas and several cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Gene Hayes, a grandmother, Jean Kigar, a grandfathers, Jack Kigar and Harry Gardner, an aunt, Evelyn Dent and two cousins, Denver Gilbert and Davin Lohmeyer.

Angie graduated from Knox County High School in 1994. She attended Culver-Stockton College, graduating with a degree in criminal justice and psychology. After graduating she worked for Learning Opportunities in Kirksville, MO for five years. For the last several years she has been a housewife and worked for her mother, at her dog kennel.

Angie enjoyed raising her three min pins, reading, collecting angels, spending time with her family, making jewelry and other crafts. She also had a love for music. Angie had a very compassionate heart and was known to reach out to others. She will be greatly missed.

Angela will be cremated and no services will be held. A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2014 with family receiving friends from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO.
