Andre Ramon Nixon, age 36 of LaGrange, Missouri, passed away Friday, April 23 2010, in the Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal, Missouri.
He was born in Quincy, Illinois, on December 26, 1973, the son of Orville D. Minter and Sarah E. Nixon. He was united in marriage to Patra Tungate in LaBelle, Missouri in 2001 and to this union two children were born.
Surviving are his two sons, Andre and Payton Nixon, his father, Orville D. Minter of LaGrange, Missouri, eleven brothers and sisters, Melvina and husband Eddie of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Demetrius and Cassandra of Springfield, Illinois, Lisa of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Dedra and Veronica and husband Henry also of Milwaukee, Randolph of Quincy, Illinois, Orville Lee, Donna Marie and Patrick of Monroe City, Missouri and Johnny of North Carolina, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, and one brother, Jeff Dewayne Nixon.
Mr. Nixon attended grade school in Quincy, Illinois and graduated from Highland High School. He attended John Wood Community College in Quincy, Illinois where he took classes in truck driving.
Andre was employed with Decker Truck Lines at Ft. Dodge, Iowa for several years and for several years he and his father owned M&M Concrete Construction in LaGrange, Missouri. He loved to hunt, fish, barbeque and spend time with his children. Andre attended the Second Baptist Church at Quincy, Illinois.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, Missouri. Reverend Terrance Holder will officiate the services, assisted by Minister Patrick Minter.
Casket bearers will be Tyson Dade, Troy Boyer, Curtis Mosby, Chad Mosby, Kevin Lewis, Richie Humphrey, Brandon Holder and Brandon Schroeder.
Honorary bearers will be Orville Lee Minter, Orville White, Patrick Minter, Jamar White, Derrick, Minter, Kaleb Minter, Ryan Minter, Demetris Nixon and Tranell Humphrey.
Visitation will be Monday, April 26, 2010, after 4 p.m. at the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, Missouri, with the family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Chapel.
