Alta Janava (Crabtree) Jackson, age 93, of Edina, MO, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2022, in Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, MO. She was born March 28, 1929, the daughter of George Troy and Wanda Waneta Tracy Crabtree.
She was united in marriage to Wayne Goodwin and to this union two children were born Clark Wayne Goodwin and Gwen Hummel (Goodwin). She the married Cecil James Lackey and to this union one daughter was born Cecilia Gail Morgret (Lackey). She then was married to Roy Gilbert Jackson who had three step children brought into their marriage. Nick Jackson, Brenda Nowlain, and James Jackson.
She is survived by two brothers Frank (Margaret) Crabtree of Edina, MO and Ben Crabtree of Columbia, MO, two daughters, Gwen Hummel of Nauvoo, IL, and Cecilia Gail Morgret and Dean of Edina, MO, grandchildren, Heather Dickey(Brian), Holly Couch (Shawn), Tamera Ann (Howard) Smith, Bethany Jackson, Joshua (Jill) Jackson, Rick Nowlain, Jamie Nowlain, great grandchildren, Abigail Smith, Brayden Smith, Danielle and Dylan Blint, Mekenna Claman, great-great grandchildren, Skylar, Cora, and many nieces and nephews.
Jan was preceded in death by her parents, a son Clark Wayne Goodwin, one brother George Crabtree, grandson Michael Parton, step son James Jackson, her husband Roy Jackson, son-in-law Chuck Hummel, and a sister-in-law Helen Crabtree.
Jan had been employed at Motorola in Quincy, IL. She attended secretarial school and worked at Northeast MO State Teachers College in Kirksville, MO. She later moved back to Edina to care for her parents and worked at the Edina Sentinel for a while.
Jan was an artist. She made quilts, made jewelry and became a painter. She had made many pieces at art. She learned to use the computer and enjoyed Facebook. Jan loved God and her family above all. We were so blessed to have had her in our lives. She loved animals and being outside tending to her yard and flowers.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, October 3, 2022, in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Officiating the services will be Reverend John Bode. Burial will be in Park View Memorial Gardens Kirksville, MO.
Music selectons will be Old Rugged Cross and Everybody Wants To Go To Heaven.
Casket bearers will be Dylan Blint, Howard Smith, Brayden Smith, John Walker, Shawn Graham and Dylan Morgret.
Visitation will be held 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, October 3, 2022, in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO.
