Albert Richard Hagerla, age 72, of Edina, MO, passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2018, on his farm southeast of Edina, MO.  He was born July 1, 1946, in Kirksville, MO, the son of Richard Vern and Phyllis Arlene Adams Hagerla.  He was united in marriage to Deborah Sue Jones on June 29, 1968, in Washington, IA.

Surviving are his wife Debbie Hagerla of Edina, MO, two daughters, Sara (Rob) Sullens of Edina, MO, and Susan (Cade) Mullins of Kirksville, MO, a sister Nancy (Jack) Reardon of Edina, MO, and five grandchildren, Lexi (Colebie) Murry of Edina, MO, Skyler Sullens of Edina, MO, Brayden Cam, Cayden Mullins and Hayden Mullins all of Kirksville, MO, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Albert graduated from Knox County High School in 1964.  Albert was a lifelong resident on Knox County where he was engaged in farming, raising cattle, hogs, and row crops.  Albert was also employed with the Missouri Department of Transportation for twenty years.  Albert was an avid NASCAR fan, he loved hunting especially bow and black powder, RV camping, cooking out, all women's college sports and Mizzou women's basketball.  He also enjoyed watching all sports his grandchildren were involved in.  Albert served a number of years on the City Council and was a member of the Edina United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, September 21, 2018, in the Hudson-Rimer funeral Home in Edina, MO.  Reverend Virgil Jones will officiate the services.  Burial will be in Park View Memorial Gardens in Kirksville, MO.   Musical selections will be go Rest High On That Mountain and Amazing Grace.

Casket bearers will be Rob Sullens, Colebie Murry, Brayden Cam, Skyler Sullens, Roger Parton and Cade Mullins.

Honorary bearers will be Mike Peters, Donnie Davis, John Hayes, Fred Layman, Donnie Mayes, Ray Prebe, Alvin Moutrie, Jack Reardon, Eldon Parrish and Harry Lee Oldfather.

Visitation will be held after 4 p.m. Thursday, September 20, 2018, with family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO.
