Obituary

Alben Leonard Trentmann, 70, of Edina, Missouri passed away Monday, July 28, 2025.

Alben was born February 10, 1955 in Washington, Missouri to Wilbert William and Geraldine Rose (Dehn) Trentmann.

Alben was united in marriage to Nancy K. Wood on April 8, 1978 in Washington and to this union four children were born, Jamie, Troy and twin sons John and Andrew.

Al was a loving father to Jamie, Troy, John and Andrew and precious Papa to Alexander who Al referred to as Buzzcat.

Alben was a member of the Washington High School graduating Class of 1973.  He worked as a union carpenter and was a long-time member of local 1839, where there were many projects he was proud to be a part of, including the construction of the Callaway Nuclear Plant. Alben was an avid outdoorsman with numerous hobbies. He loved hunting, fishing, cooking, drinking coffee and piddling at his farm.  He enjoyed watching the St Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs.

Alben is survived by daughter Jamie Trentmann of New Haven; sons Troy Trentmann of Hermann and Andrew Trentmann of New Haven; one beloved grandson Alexander Trentmann of New Haven; seven sisters, Judy Smith of Washington, Karen Sadler of Washington, Joyce Frietze and husband Joe of Washington, Brenda Trentmann of Washington, Gail Eckelkamp of Washington, Sandy Seamon and husband Mark of Berger, Amy Korte and husband Steve of Washington; six brothers, Mark Trentmann and wife Charlene of Washington, Bill Trentmann of New Haven, Karl Trentmann and wife Linda of Washington, Eric Trentmann of Owensville, Conrad Trentmann and wife Denice of Washington and Benjamin Trentmann of Washington. Along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

Alben was preceded in death by one son, John Charles Trentmann, by his parents, and triplet sisters and brother Caryl, Cheryl and Daryl Trentmann.

Local arrangements are in care of the Hudson-Rimer funeral home in Edina, Missouri.
